2 month flare up

I have been under the weather recently, thought it was pneumonia, but just a cold I guess. I saw my Rheum. and had labs and a chest xray. The chest xray showed no infiltrates, so no pneumonia, or some type of atypical pneumonia, which is what I had been guessing all along. However, we need to go back to the beginning almost 2 months ago, I started a flare, used prednisone x 1 month with no relief, so finally just quit, didn't notice any diffence when I stopped, so it was a wise move. MD increased the Methotrexate to 20mg (8tabs weekly), Arava the same. (3 x week)
I thought the lungs were unrelated, but now I think I picked up a bug from a patient, and started an inflamatory cycle, increased pain and fatigue. My sed rate last week was 35, not really like it was back at the bigging of my RA, then >75 was common.
I am not sure how it will pan out, but restarted on systemic enzymes again, I also am going to try inulin for GI yeast control.

Life continues

Its been a while since I last posted, things have remained up and down, health wise. I have had a few days when I woke up in enough pain to warrant a dose of Prednisone.
My triglycerides level was very high last week,(meaning over 500), so, time for some serious diet changes. There is actually no desert I don't love, that will have to change. I started eating more fish and vegtable meals this past week.
Also started walking more often, I hope to take a backpacking trip with my youngest son before he returns to Asia.

Healthier living and flares

I recently went on a cruise and ate like a gourmet for almost 2 weeks, but got another flare up. Had pain in my hands and wrists that stayed, didn't go away upon awakening. I only waited a short time, then used the prednisone I carried for just such an emergency. I would think if I went on a junk food bender, that a flare would make sense, but in this case, I was eating more fruits and vegtables than I ever do. I had seafood every day, one day, 4 portions, and always, small portions. I cut the prednisone dose in half, but increased my methotrexate by one tab, this past week.I will try stopping the prednisone tommorrow.
In addition to eating healthier, I walked 3.3. miles a day, when the weather was nice, the recent snow storm was when I was heading home, we had 12- 18' seas, so no walking out on the deck that day.
